Palau Congressos Barcelona
Palau de Congressos de Barcelona has positioned itself as the preferred venue for international companies and associations that need a central, spacious and versatile space to hold their meetings in Barcelona. The Auditorium with 1,609 seats , 5,500m2 of multipurpose space, 10 conference rooms and an impressive terrace with privileged views of the Magic Fountain of Montjuïc are the most outstanding elements of this historic venue.
The original building was created for the Barcelona Universal Exhibition of 1929 and housed the Projections Palace. In the 1960s, it became the Palace of Nations and in the 1990s it was refurbished into the Barcelona Congress Palace. In 1992 it was home to the Olympic Press Center and during the reconstruction of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the late 1990s, the Barcelona Conference Center was the venue for grand operas.
One of its most precious characteristics is the location, since, apart from being downtown, it is located in one of the most emblematic areas of the city, surrounded by the National Palace, the Alfonso XIII and Victoria Eugenia Palaces, the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion and Arenas Shopping Mall.
